Sony has announced the PSP2 which is set to be released holiday's 2011. They say that the new PSP2 will be almost as powerful as the PS3 console. Here is some information on the hardware that they will be putting into this sucker.

Touch Screen – A multi-touch surface, 5.0 inch OLED displays very crisp content on it’s high contrast display running at 960×544 resolution (323.18 DPI)

Touch Pads – Placed on the front and rear, these capacitive touch pads can control every aspect of your game, from movement to the effective replacement for buttons or triggers.

Flash Memory – Based on flash memory, Sony’s NGP will not use PSP’s outdated UMD drive, but rather have all content as downloadable content, or a proprietary SD/MS Pro Duo format of physical disk for upcoming titles.

PS3 Controls – With an internal sixaxis control, and dual micro-analog joysticks, this system will serve as an effective replacement for all gaming needs, such as analog movement during First Person Shooter play.

Connectivity – With the ability to connect to the Internet over Wi-Fi or a 3G connection, play your Sony NGP anywhere! Web-based features like “Near” feature the ability to see what users physically nearby you are playing, in the real world, on their NGP. Track where your friends are live, and play with them, simply by purchasing the titles they have while on the move over the Playstation Network.

User Interface – LiveArea is Sony’s new headlining interface for the futuristic portable. This interface resembles a synergy of the Android/iOS platform, and Sony’s existing XMB to create possibly the most physically satisfying interface ever on a handheld device.

Under The Hood – Though specific details on what the internal properties are run amiss, the NGP clearly shows that it is a powerhouse in every tech demo displayed at the meeting. Capable of using the Unreal Engine 3, and playing ported versions of the Uncharted series, and Metal Gear Solid 4, it is clear that this handheld is nearly every bit as powerful as Sony’s headlining console. (Update) NGP is running on an ARM Cortex-A9 processor [Quad-Core] with a SGX543MP4+ GPU [Much more powerful than the iPhone 4's former model of this GPU.

Out The Window – If you were interested in using the device for personal photography similarly to your DSi, you’re in luck, and very much in more luck. Featuring a front and rear facing camera, the NGP is slated to take high-resolution pictures where ever you go, similar to your mobile phone.

the Logitech Wireless Mouse M515 features a sealed bottom case that lets you mouse around on soft surfaces without snagging. That means it won't collect bits of fuzz around the sensor when dragging it across the couch, bed, or a trouser-clad thigh. Naturally, it can also be used on more traditional computing surfaces, too. The M515 boasts up to two-years of battery life thanks, in part, to a hand-detection sensor that causes the mouse to sleep anytime it's not being held. Rounding out the list of features is Logitech's Hyper-Fast scrolling wheel and Unifying USB micro receiver required for the laptop or home theater PC you wish to control. Look for the M515 to ship to Europe in April for £49.99 -- that's about $80 converted, but you'll likely find it for a lot less whenever it hits US retail.

Check this video out of a guy who invented a beer pouring machine that fills the beer from the bottom of a plastic cup that has a hole in it that is sealed by a magnet.  The ironic thing is that he said he was 2 margarita's deep when he invented this BEER pouring machine.

A couple a years ago i found a video on YouTube from the show Modern Marvels.  This show when through and showed the current and past technology used in bedrooms.  The most exiting part was when they were invited to go into the Microsoft house.  Microsoft uses this house to display the latest technology in development for the consumer market.  The part i am talking about is the bedroom of course, which they lined the walls with a thin layer of OLED's like wallpaper.  The entire room was a giant video screen which you could display anything you wanted on the walls, even change the color of the room with the push of a button.  To control the room they designed an orb you hold in your hand to navigate the menu's which are displayed on the wall.  In the future OLED's will be able to be purchased in rolls like wallpaper to apply to the walls. Here is the video from the show.

Resolve Market Research complete a survey that looks at how the iPad is being used, and how the iPad is impacting other technology devices like e-readers, portable gaming consoles and netbooks.  The study was conducted online to a national audience.  #5 on the list is Game consoles, now people don't really know how powerful the current game consoles are so that on the list is questionable.  #4 is ipod/mp3 players, this survey must have not included anyone that listens to music while working out because my guess is that it will be pretty hard to work out with the iPad on your wrist. #3 is Laptops/netbooks, now most people do use laptops to surf the web as a mobile surfing tool, but it does not replace the editing tools or main software.  #2 is portable gaming devices, the iPad is a great portable gaming device that also has a 10" screen that no other portable do.  And #1 on the list is E-book readers, a lot of people have kindles and nooks but the only thing they are good for is reading.  You cannot surf the internet or play games or do work on them.

Vizio announced their new line of 3D TVs recently with a big surprise.  The new line of TVs don't use the big and bulky active shutter glasses that you find with 3D TVs in stores now but "passive" glasses that you find in the movie theaters.  These new "passive" glasses are inexpensive compared to the active shutter glasses ($199) and also are smaller and lighter.  So now you can get enough glasses for everyone to watch 3D without emptying your wallet.  Vizio has a 65" XVT3D-series set that is available right now for $3,700

Panasonic has developed a screen that will cover an entire wall in your house. The screen has touch capability, face recognition so it can set the screen to your preferences such as your wall color, pictures you like to display and books on the book shelf. The wall will also track your movement so when you have a television displaying on the wall in front of you and you move backword the screen will increase in size. When you move from left to right the television will follow you so you never miss a moment.

Imagine having to get up to grab a beverage or some popcorn during your movie and having your screen follow you to the fridge and back. The full screen wall provides you with an unparalleled entertainment experience that allows you to play your favorite video games, display your computer screens, and even has an ip camera for an incredible real life feel to interactive activities such as yoga class or video phone calls. If thats not enough how about the ability to view your office or kids room using the security features or customize your room with virtual decoration using larger than life screensavers, different styles of windows, pictures, maybe an ocean view? Panasonic says the Life Wall will be available in 2016, no price point has been set.

There are many reasons why not to get the Verizon iPhone just yet, but i want to point out some of the main ones here. The first reason is network instability, sure Verizon thinks its CDMA newtork can handle the onslaught of new iPhone users but the fact is that iPhone users are known to use twice the amount of data than android users. That might cripple the network on day one. The second reason is that you aren't going to be able to get your hands on one, there will be a limited supply just like the iPhone 4 launch for AT&T. The third reason is that Verizon's iPhone plan will be more expensive than AT&T. The final reason is unless you want to be Verizon and Apple's guinea pig then just wait for the iPhone 5 which should be announced within the next few months

Samsung to launch the successor of the popular Galaxy S during MWC 2011 Conference. The Galaxy S2 (not an official name yet) is said to have a 4.3" Super AMOLED Plus display, dual core precessor, and run Android v2.3. Keep checking in on updates

Today at 11:00am local time in New York City, Verizon announced the iPhone 4 coming to their network in early February.  This is the first time the iPhone has been on another carrier other than AT&T since the launch of the iPhone in 2007.  Many Verizon customers have been waiting for its release on their network since then.  Its not sure that the problems i talked about in my last post will deter people from getting the new device.

At CES this past week Motorola announced their tablet PC called the Xoom, which they hope can dethrone the iPad as king of tablets. The Xoom betters the iPad in some ways, it comes standard with front and rear facing cameras, including one that can record in HD, compared with none in the "current" version of the iPad. It also boasts a larger screen with a higher resolution. It will be the first device to run the newest version of Google's Android operating system known as Honeycomb, which is specifically designed for tablets. The Xoom has a dual-core processor with each core running at 1 GHz, a 1,280x800 resolution, a 10.1-inch 16:10 display, and supports Google Maps 5.0 with 3D buildings. It can capture 720p video with the rear camera.

The Wall Street Journal published a page on their website stating that Verizon is getting the iPhone on Tuesday.  This comes because Verizon is holding a press conference on that day, but it is still not confirmed if it will be the announcement of the iPhone on Verizon's network.  Typically Apple does not allow any other company besides themselves to make an announcement that has anything to do with an Apple product, which should make you wonder if this is the big announcement everyone is waiting for.  A lot of people are planning on switching from AT&T to Verizon for the better coverage.  I talked about that in an earlier post, but what i forgot to mention is that there is a catch for people eager to switch to the Verizon network for an iPhone.  The current cellular network of AT&T, the current iPhone provider, runs on a standard called UMTS. Verizon's uses something called CDMA, and that will make a difference in how the phones work.
Most notably, Verizon customers aren't able to surf the Web or exchange email while they're talking on their phone. That sort of on-the-go multitasking might seem a little much to many people, but it's often what iPhone users are signing up for.  AT&T's network, meanwhile, lets users continue a voice call while updating their Facebook pages or checking Google Maps. "When it comes to the smart phones, it's a big deal," said AT&T executive Dave Wolter.

Sony has developed a 4.1" rollable screen that can be rolled like a scroll.  Sony says they hope this technology will be able to be produced on a large scale television.  So imagine having a high definition tv that you can retract into the ceiling with high contrast ratio's (it being real bright for all you don't know what contrast ratio's are)  that are only 0.03" inches thick.  This is possible only by using OLED TV technology.  OLED stands for Organic Light Emitting Diode. OLED's are special because they emit their own light which means they do not need a back light or LED side lighting like current Samsung models.  I will talk more about the possibility's of OLED technology tomorrow... for now here is more about Sony's roll able tv's in the link, and this video demonstrates the rollable screens.

Sony rollable screens
For all you people who have been waiting for an iPhone on Verizon.....   WHY? Because Verizon has better coverage?.  Think about that for a minute, Verizon WILL get the iPhone on their new 4G LTE network.  They may have better coverage than AT&T non-4G, BUT AT&T is getting the 4G LTE network this year also so guess what?  THE SAME NETWORK THE SAME COVERAGE.... networks have their own towers, well since AT&T and Verizon are going to have LTE the will USE THE SAME TOWERS. so you all waited 3 YEARS for nothing.  OH one more thing a Verizon rep at a best buy said that Verizon's iPhone plan will be more expensive than AT&T

WOW!!!! what can i say? Samsung's new line of LED tv's is unbelievable. The D7000 series only has a bezzle that measures 0.2" wide. I think that it will make the screen look bigger than it actually is. With this new bezzle design they say you can now fit a 55" tv where a 52" was only able to fit. No word on price and availability yet..... here is some more info on the tv in the link below
